1699 Redi carries out experiments which concluded that germs are in the air
Louis Pasteurs germ theory - 1857 showed a specific microbe was causing wine to go off , temperature killed them , proved microbes didn’t appear on their own and that bacteria could be found everywhere
Concluded bacteria causes decay and year later linked it to disease
Edward Jenner
1796 inserted cowpox into a 8 year old boy six weeks later gave him smallpox and he was immune

1928 developed the first anti biotic penicillin.
Penicillin kills bacteria
He went on holiday and la penicillin spore got to his lab and killed the germ he was testing .
Gave up on it after a while

1938 - Developed penicillin as Fleming didn’t want to
Tested it on animals then human but he died because he didn’t get enough dosage .
Got 25 pounds from government
1941 - went to America and American government invested millions , to use it on their soldiers
