What is an operating system?
a program that manages all of the other application programs in a computer.
examples of operating systems
Windows, Linux and Android
What is a GUI?
digital interface in which a user interacts with graphical components such as icons, buttons, and menus
What is a CLI?
used to run programs, manage computer files and interact with the computer.
what is natural language
the user and the system communicate via a natural (human) language.
what are the 3 types of interface
command line
natural language and speech
graphical user interface
what is a driver
a small piece of software that tells the computer how to use external devices
what is memory management
It decides what to move in and out of RAM. When a program is closed and no longer needed it moves it out of RAM.
what is multitasking
Multitasking is allowing a user to perform more than one computer task at a time.
what is file management
management of your files like where they are stored eg.
what is User Management / Security
