- Henry and Spain agreed to go to war against France to recover lost territories
- Achieved his aim of gaining recognition by making links with Spain through the marriage

Meant that both Henry and Maximilian would send 3000 troops to France but Maximilian did not honour his side as he made peace with Charles VIII (July 1489)
-Was not achieving his aim of improving relations as it shows how England was still treated as inferior
