Recruitment Process
A
- identifying the vacancy
- write a job description (including responsibilities and workload)
- write a person specification (what qualifications would be required)
- advertise the vacancy
- candidates apply
- candidates are shortlisted
- candidates are interviewed
- candidates participate in recruitment activity

Internal Recruitment
A
- less expensive, no need for advertising
- employee already fits company culture
- don’t have to be inducted as they are already part of the company
- track record and skills are already known
- staff can be attracted through company newsletter

- vacancy would have to be manually advertised
- they may not have the skills needed for the new position
- candidates are not bored or tired with the company and are therefore more enthusiastic and are more likely to work harder

- learning can be practised immediately
- trainees can see relevance to job more clearly when being taught on the job

- taking away time for employees to be trained
- workers may pass on bad habits
- new worker may not pick up skills straight away

Adv:
- more focused environment with less distractions
- more chance to learn specialist skills
- increases new workers motivation as they feel more valued as the company as spent money on their development
Dis:
- more expensive
- may fail to see the link between training and workplace
- employee taken away from production so the company are losing money
