Activated 24Feb2006 at Camp Lejeune, NC. 1st&2nd Force Recon became 1st&2nd MSOB.
August 2006: Deployed first unit within 6 months of activation
April 2009: Marine Special Operations Advisor Group (MSOAG) re-designated as Marine Special Operations Regiment (MSOR). Also Formed MSOSG w/ 3 Marine Special Operations Support Bttn & Marine Special Operations School.
June 2015: Re-designated major subordinate commands and Battalions to “Raider” Ex; MRR, MRSB & MRTC
