- Treaty of Edinburgh ends Protestant rebellion and Mary told to give up her claim to the English throne (Mary never approves this bit !)
- After death of her husband (King Francis II of France),Mary returned to Scotland
- Mary marries Henry Stuart (Lord Darnley) in 1565
- Mary gives birth to her son James in 1566
- Darnley murdered suspiciously in 1567 , Mary then marries the Earl of Bothwell
- Scandal led to Scottish Protestant Lords rebelling again (1567)
- Mary fled to England looking for Elizabeth’s help against the scottish rebels in 1568
