- brakes shouldn’t feel spongy or slack
- car shouldn’t pull to one side as it stops

- lift bonnet (front of car)
- engine coolant is black circle on top left with white triangle
- check levels are between minimum and maximum markings
tell me how you’d check you have a safe level of hydraulic brake fluid
- identify brake fluid reservoir (at the top in the centre)
- it is a circle with three yellow icons on it)
- check that levels are between minimum and maximum markings
tell me how you’d check the engine has sufficient oil
- identify the dip stick
- take out the dip stick and wipe it off
- put it back in and take it out - oil should come up between the minimum and maximum markings
