Cockpit/Cabin Fire/Smoke/Fumes
On Ground
Carry out DOUBLE ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN, Card R-9
Rotor Brake - On, as required
Vacate Aircraft
Fight Fire (if appropriate)
Cockpit/Cabin Fire/Smoke/Fumes
In flight
Achieve safe flight condition
Ventilate aircraft: Cockpit door window(s) - Fully open Cabin door (if rear occupants) - Fully open (adhere to limits) Yaw aircraft to clear smoke/fumes BLD HTG switch - Off
If electrical fire suspected:
Go to ELECTRICAL FIRE/SHORT CIRCUIT, Card R-6R
If source unknown:
Fight fire (if required)
Land as soon as possible
Electrical Fire/Short Circuit
On ground
Carry out DOUBLE ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN, Card R-9 Rotor Brake - On, as required Vacate Aircraft Disconnect EPU Fight Fire (if appropriate)
Electrical Fire/Short Circuit
In flight
Achieve safe flight condition
If source can be positively identified:
Remove electrical power from equipment (switch off/pull c/b(s))
Continue to monitor for further indications
Land as soon as practicable
If source cannot be positively identified or indications continue:
BUS TIE switches - Both Off [SYS1 BUS TIE OPEN SYS2] illuminated
VMS - Check DC Volts, Gen Amps and Bat Amps; note higher load
BAT MSTR switch - Off, [BAT DISCONN] illuminated
Double Engine Emergency Shutdown
On ground
ENG MAIN switches - Both Off
PRIME PUMP switches - Both Off
BAT MSTR switch - Off
If engines remain running:
Twist Grips - Both Shut-Off
Double Engine Emergency Shutdown
In flight
Achieve safe flight condition
ENG MAIN switches - Both Off
If engines remain running or TOT rises abnormally:
Twist Grips - Both Shut-Off
After landing:
BAT MSTR switch - Off
Single Engine Emergency Shutdown
Confirm safe OEI flight conditions
Identify affected engine
On affected engine:
ENG* MAIN switch - IDLE, [ENG* IDLE] illuminates, check N2
ENG* MAIN switch - OFF, ENG* FAIL illuminates
If engine remains running or TOT rises abnormally:
Twist grip - Close to min fuel stop, check N2
Twist grip - Shut-Off
Crash Checks
Harnesses - Locked and tight Radio - Transmit distress call EMERG OFF switches - Press both External Load - Jettison EMERG SHD BUS switch - On ELT switch - On IFF - Squawk 7700
GEN* OVERHEAT
Affected GEN Switch - OFF [GEN* DISCONNECTED] illumated
Start Clock
If [GEN* OVERHEAT] remains after one minute:
Achieve safe OEI flight condition
Identify affected engine
Carry out SINGLE ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN, Card R-10R
MGB OIL P
In flight
Reduce power as much as possible
Fly at VY
VMS (Monitor MGB parameters)
Land ASA Poss
ENGINE OVERSPEED - DRIVESHAFT FAILURE
Achieve safe OEI flight condition
Identify affected engine
On affected engine:
Carry out SINGLE ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN, Card R-10R
ENGINE OVERSPEED - GOVERNING FAILURE
in flight
Collective - Raise to maintain NR/N2 within limits
VMS - Identify affected engine
Affected engine:
Twist grip - reduce torque below normal engine. [ENG* TWIST GRIP] and [FADEC DEGRADED] illuminate
Collective - adjust to remain within limits
Manual Mode switch - ON, [FADEC DEGRADED] extinguished and [ENG* MANUAL MODE] illuminated
Twist grip - set 20% to 30% Torque
Collective - Adjust to remain within limits
TR CONTROL FAILURE IN THE HOVER
Probable yaw left or right
Loss of yaw control
Possible noise or vibration from the tail section
If yawing to the left:
Twist grips - reduce power commensurate with yaw
Lower collective
Stop any drift using cyclic
Establish landing attitude
Cushion touchdown
TR DRIVE FAILURE IN THE HOVER (IGE)
Rapid yaw to right
Loss of yaw control
Possible noise or vibration from the tail section
Lower collective
Twist grips - close to minimum fuel stop
Establish landing attitude
Cushion touchdown
TR DRIVE FAILURE IN THE HOVER (OGE)
Rapid yaw to right
Loss of yaw control
Possible noise or vibration from the tail section
Lower collective
Twist grips - reduce power
If height permits:
Increase airspeed
Go to TR DRIVE FAILURE IN FORWARD FLIGHT
or
Establish autorotation
Carry out CRASH CHECKS
or
Establish landing attitude
Cushion touchdown
BAT OVHT
BAT MSTR switch - OFF [BAT DISCONN] illuminated
Land ASA Poss
AP
Fly manually
AP/BKUP ON switch (cyclic) - Re-engage AP2 + AP1
Achieve safe flight condition
LOW FUEL 1 and/or LOW FUEL 2
Start clock
Fuel contents - check
ABNORMAL VIBRATION IN FLIGHT
Reduce severity of manoeuvre
Relax grip on flying controls
Establish steady flight at 60-100 it’s
If in low speed flight or hover:
