A
- Establish MTF for resuscitative surgery, MT, and temporary hospitalization of casualties
- Est MTF and temp holding of casualties from supported forces.
- Medical support to other services and nations.
- Prep to evacuate casualties
- Provide and coordinate medical evacuation for landing forces.
- Be prepared to receive casualties from next forward lin.

5 Echelons of Care
A
Lvl 1 : Intital emergency care: Buddy aid, Company HM, BAS, STP.
Lvl 2: Intial resuscitative surgical care, FRSS and CRTS
Lvl 3: Resusciatative care, includes; Fleet hospitals, TAH’s and Army CSH’s.
Lvl IV: Definitive care: overseas MTF.
Lvl V: Rehab care includes CONUS facilities capable of rehab to fullest extent possible.

4 Tasks of Shock Trauma Platoon (STP)
A
- Provide and coordinate evacuation
- Est. and operate clearing stations.
- Est. medical treatment facilities for RT & temporary holding.
- Provide medical support to personnel of other services and nations.
- STPs: 8 STPs
- 2 tactical ambulances
- FRSS: provide life saving capabilities to support MAGTF ops on cont. 24 hour basis and 48 hrs w/o resupply.

- 11 PLTs
- HQ: PLT (1)
- Surg PLTs: (3) 3 surg sections, 1 Op room for 24 hrs.
- Holding PLT: (1)
- Surg PLT: (3) 20 med surg beds. total of 60
- Ancillary services PLT: (2) 2 labs, 2 xrays, 2 pharmacy
