13 Steps Towards Riches Flashcards

1
Q

1: DESIRE

A

The starting point of all achievement. A keen, definite, pulsating act which transcends everything else. It is not a wish or a hope.

“Barnes succeeded because he chose a definite goal, placed all his energy, all of his will power, all of his effort, everything back of that goal.”

Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.

2: FAITH

A

Visualization of, and belief in attainment of desire.
It is the head chemist of the mind. When it is blended with the vibration of thought, the subconscious mind instantly picks up the vibration, translates it into its spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to Infinite Intelligence, as in case of prayer.

THERE NO LIMITATIONS TO THE MIND EXCEPT THOSE WE ACKOWLEDGE.

BOTH POVERTY AND RICHES ARE THE OFFSPRING OF THOUGHT.

3: AUTO-SUGGESTION

A

The medium for influencing the subconscious mind.
A term which applies to all suggestions and all self-administered stimuli which reach one’s mind through the five senses. Stated in another way, auto-suggestion is self-suggestion. It is the agency of communication between that part of the mind where conscious thought takes place, and that which serves as the seat of action for the subconscious mind. Through the dominating thoughts which one permits to remain in the conscious mind, (whether these thoughts are negative or positive, is immaterial), the principle of auto-suggestion voluntarily reaches the subconscious mind and influences these thoughts.

NO THOUGHT, whether it be negative or positive, CAN ENTER THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND WITHOUT THE AID OF THE PRINCIPLE OF AUTO-SUGGESTION.

4: SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, Personal Experience or Observations

A

There are two kinds of knowledge. One is general, the other specialized. General knowledge, no matter how great in quantity or variety it may be, is of but little use in the accumulation of money.

Knowledge will not attract money, unless it is organized, and intelligently directed, through practical PLANS OF ACTION, to the DEFINITE END of accumulation of money. Lack of understanding of this fact has been the source of confusion to millions of people who falsely believe that “knowledge is power”. It is nothing of the sort! Knowledge is only potential power.

5: IMAGINATION

A

This is literally the workshop wherein are fashioned all plans created by man. The impulse, the DESIRE, is given shape, form and ACTION through the aid of the imaginative faculty of the mind.

MAN’S ONLY LIMITATION, within reason, LIES IN HIS DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF THE IMAGINATION.

2 forms of imagination: Synthetic and Creative.

Both the synthetic and creative faculties of imagination become more alert with use, just as any muscle or organ of the body develops through use.

7: DECISION

A

The mastery of procrastination.
Accurate analyisis of over 25,000 men and women who had experienced failure, disclosed the fact that LACK OF DECISION was near the head of the list of the 30 major causes of FAILURE. PROCRASTINATION, the opposite of DECISION, is a common enemy which practically every man must conquer.

“Tell the world what you intend to do, but first show it.”

The sustained effort necessary to induce faith.
The basis of persistence is the POWER OF WILL.

10: THE MYSTERY OF SEX - TRANSMUTATION

A

The meaning of the word “transmute” is, in simple language, “the changing, or transferring of one element, or form of energy, into another.”
The emotion of sex has back of it the possibility of three constructive potentialities, they are:
1. The perpetuation of mankind.
2. The maintanence of health, (as a therapeutic agency, it has no equal).
3. The transformation of mediocrity into genius through transmutation.
