An interview or researcher sleects sample that reflects the characteristic of whole population

A

Population is divided into groups according to characteristic

Size of each group determines the proportion of sample having that characteristic

You would meet people assess their group after interview to alloclate to appropriate quota

continues until filled

if person refuses to be interviewed or quota full - simply ignore to move onto next person
