SOCIAL FACTORS
The influence of peers’ food choices can impact the eating habits of people.
ECONOMICS
Income can influence what a person eats.
GEOGRAPHY/ACCESIBILITY
A person’s diet staples can be influenced by where they live. For example, someone who lives close to the coast may have more seafood in their diet compared to someone who lives inland.
HEALTH CONCERNS
If a person has a health condition that requires them to follow a certain diet, then this can affect what foods a person eats.
CULTURE
Cultural traditions can affect a person’s view on food & diet.
NUTRITION
The sum of all processes involved in how organisms obtain nutrients, metabolize them, & use them to support all of life’s processes.
ENERGY
The capacity of a body or physical system for doing work. Kinetic & Potential are the fundamental forms.
WATER
The universal chemical solvent in which most of the processes of life occur.
ORGANIC FOOD
Food that is produced, processed & handled in accordance to the USDA National Organic Program standards.
