What are dual displays?
They have toggle fn keys, secondary functions, and you can toggle between LCD/ external monitor/ both
What’s a wireless key on a laptop do?
Control your wireless signal, airplane mode & secure areas. Look for a status light. Can be a physical switch or a function key. May include 802.11, Bluetooth, and cellular. Look for symbol or status light.
How does one use a laptop’s cellular function?
By use of hardware switches or special function key toggles that enable you to switch features on and off.
What consists of a laptop’s volume settings?
Another function key, may be a standalone key. Usually has a mute option. Physical dial or button and may see visual feedback.
What’s the purpose of screen brightness?
Controls backlight. A secondary function key.
More light, more power. Helps conserve your battery.
What’s bluetooth connection?
High speed communication over short distances. (PAN) Personal area network. Connects mobile devices like smartphones, tethering, headsets/headphones, health monitors, automobile and phone integration, smartwatches, and external speakers.
What’s keyboard backlight for?
Laptop option that allows one to see in the dark. With secondary function control for intensity, duration and to disable
What’s the purpose of a touchpad?
To enable and disable. And to prevent inadvertent mouse clicks and movements.
What’s screen orientation?
Allows to rotate screen. Useful on rotating tablets and laptops. Landscape to portrait view. Fn key or hotkey, different across manufacturers.
What are available media options?
Control audio and video from your keyboard. No mouse clicking. Play, stop, rewind, fast forward, mute, and volume.
What’s the GPS feature on a laptop?
Listen for GPS signals. May also be associated with airplane mode or other wireless settings.
What’s airplane mode on a laptop?
One button that turns off all radios for cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, and etc. You can re-enable individual features without enabling cellular features. Useful when the airplane has WiFi.
What’s the purpose of a docking station?
Uses external keyboard and mouse, extend existing laptop interfaces, add additional functionality, desktop adapter cards, avoid cable issues.
What’s a port replicator?
Similar to a docking station and does not have an expansion card option.
What’s a physical laptop lock?
Keeps your laptop from walking away. Connects to a solid object to make sure nothing moves. Laptops include metal-reinforced locking slots and connect to the lock.
