BASKET
BASKET: Container sometimes with a handle made of cane or other suitable material, for arranging flowers, fruit, gifts and other accessories. Two-thirds of the handle should be visible and form an integral part of the design.
BODY FLOWERS
BODY FLOWERS: A design of wired flowers and/or foliage suitable for personal wear and adornment on any part of the body or clothing. Decorative accessories may be included. Wires must be taped.
BOUTONNIÈRE
BOUTONNIÈRE: Wired flower or cluster of small flowers, complemented by interesting foliage, berries, succulents, ribbon or accessories providing a small design to be worn. The wire must be taped. Shank to be worn down.
BUTTONHOLE
BUTTONHOLE: Wired flower or cluster of small flowers complemented by foliage, suitable for personal wear. Wires must be taped with the shank down.
BOWL ARRANGEMENT
BOWL ARRANGEMENT: Upright, facing, viewed from the front, all around, viewed from all angles, flat and pedestal containers. Flower and foliage material, wired only if necessary for support or control, arranged in floral foam in a container according to purpose, position and occasion.
CAKE SPRAY
CAKE SPRAY: Arrangement of flowers and/or foliage suitable for placement on any part of a cake or cake board. Wire or a suitable holder may be used. Wires must be taped.
CASKET SPRAY
CASKET SPRAY: Usually a family funeral tribute placed on the casket. Sympathetic placement of flowers and foliage wired or left on their natural stems and inserted into a prepared foam base.
CONTINENTAL BOUQUET
CONTINENTAL BOUQUET: A grouping of flowers and/or foliage on natural stems, spiralled, using interleaves of cellophane, secured with a binding tie and finished with a tie or bow. The stems must be neatly finished and covered. No visible wire is permissible.
CORSAGE AND SHOULDER SPRAY
CORSAGE AND SHOULDER SPRAY: A design of wired flowers and/or foliage. Accessories may be included. Suitable for personal wear with the shank worn up. Often the flowers and foliage used are quite small (see sizing against pen). Wires must be taped.
FORMAL TRIBUTE
FORMAL TRIBUTE: Cross, chaplet, heart and cushion or specified requested shapes are construction on a frame or other foundation into which wires, picks or natural stems may be inserted to achieve the design.
FORMAL WREATH
FORMAL WREATH: Flowers and foliage arranged on a circular foundation or base. A symbol of Eternal Life. Care should be taken to ensure that the void in the centre of the circle becomes an integral part of the design. Sympathetic placement of the material is important. Wire, picks or natural stems may be inserted into the base to achieve this design. In most cases, a formal wreath has an edging of leaves around the outside and inside.
HAND-TIED BOUQUET
HAND-TIED BOUQUET: A tall, upright arrangement combining long and short-stemmed flowers and/or foliage spiralled and secured with a binding tie. This style has an upright back and is finished with any combination of the following: tissue, paper, cellophane, fabric, natural or woven wrap and a tie or bow. The stems must be neatly finished and covered. A minimum amount of concealed wire is permissible.
HAND-TIED ALL ROUND BOUQUET
HAND-TIED ALL ROUND BOUQUET: Long-stemmed flowers and/or foliage on natural stems spiralled to create an all-around bouquet. The design is secured with a binding tie and finished with any combination of the following: tissue, paper, cellophane, fabric, natural or woven wrap and a tie or bow. When used with the decorated water-filled box, wrapping is optional. A minimum amount of concealed wire is permissible.
HAND-TIED POSY
HAND-TIED POSY: An arrangement of short-stemmed, usually small flowers and foliage on natural stems, assembled into a spiral forming a round convex arrangement. The spiralled stems are secured with a binding tie. The posy may be finished with any combination of the following: tissue, paper, cellophane, fabric, natural or woven wrap and a tie or bow.
Natural hand-tied posy
The Natural hand-tied posy does not include tissue, paper, cellophane, fabric, natural or woven wrap but may be finished with a tie or bow. The stems must be neatly finished and covered. A minimum amount of concealed wire is permissible.
