Colonial women were not able to go to school and have an education. They were given specific jobs such as taking care of the household and children. Colonial women were not given the right to vote.

Women now have the same opportunities for an education as anyone else. They are able to work at any job they are trained and hired for. Women now have the right to vote.

Name two similarities and two differences between the Middle and Southern Colonies

A

Similarities:
They both were able to grow crops and have farms.
They had fertile soil which made growing crops easy.
They had hot summers.
They traded their goods with other colonies.

Differences:
They grew different types of crops. The middle colonies grew wheat, corn, barley, pumpkin, and potato. The Southern grew tobacco, indigo, and cotton.
In the middle colonies most people were farmers and worked their own farms. In the Southern colonies they were plantation owners who had indentured servants and slaves work the fields.
In the Middle colonies they lived in wood and mud houses. In the Southern they lived in large mansions on their plantations.
In the middle colonies’ children attended a one room school house. In the southern colonies children were tutored at home.

A

Export means to send goods made within your colony to a different colony. Import means to bring goods into your colony from other colonies.
