The compression algorithm will find Repeating Patterns of data are found and substituted. This means no data loss will occur during compression and decompression.

Gets rid of data we can do without; removes things that don’t take away from the picture/image/sound.

What works better;lossy or lossless compression?

Lossy compression, as lossless compression doesn’t compress as well as lossy compression as nothing is actually deleted.
