Q

What are you looking for in this job?

A

learn
- I am going into IB because it has the steepest learning curve of any career path in finance. The people I have spoken to within the industry says that you learn everything on the job. And while my undergraduate studies have prepared me for a career in finance, my understanding that most of the skills I will be using throughout the rest of my career will be acquired on the job. I understand the hours and the workload, and I want to work incredibly hard to gain real-world experience that isn’t available in any other profession at this stage in my career. I know these skills will prepare me for anything I want to do later in my career.

- Anyone who has bartended knows that it is a very stressful job and there is so much to information to absord
- I was thrown into the job in the middle of the summer on Cap Cod and had to learn on the fly
- The combination of being fast paced and still requiring absolute precision made it very appealing to me
