Direct action is
Entail short -duration strikes and other small-scall offensive actions conducted with specialized military capabilities to seize, destroy, capture, exploit, recover or damage designated targets in hostile, denied, or diplomatically and/or politically sensitive environments
Special reconnaissance
entails reconnaissance and surveillance actions normally conducted in a clandestine or covert manner to collect or verify information of strategic or operational significance, employing military capabilities not normally found in conventional forces(CF)
Counterterrorism (CT)
is activities and operations taken to neutralize terrorist and their networking order to render them incapable of using unlawful violence to instill fear and coerce governments or societies to achieve their goals

operations are sensitive crisis response missions in response to terrorist threats and incidents, offense operations in support of hostage rescue and recovery can include the recapture of US Facilities, installations and sensitive material overseas

is a range of department of defense humanitarian activities conducted outside the US and its territories to relive or reduce human suffering, disease, hunger and privation

are planned to convey selective information and indicators to foreign audience to influence their emotions, motives , objective reasoning and ultimately the behavior of foreign government’s, organization, groups and individuals in a manner favorable to the originator

are actions planned, executed and assessed by civil affairs that enhance the operations environments, identify and mitigate underlying causes of instability within civil society or involved the application of functional specialty skills normally the responsibility of civil government.
