Define the Operational Assessment
A
Continuous monitoring and evaluation of the current situation and progress of an operation. The focus is on measuring progress toward the end state and delivering relevant reliable feedback into the planning process to adjust operations during execution. Assessments generally:
a) occur at all echelons and levels of war
b) focus on desired effects and objectives
c) tracks progress but oriented on the future
d) reveal threats and opportunities
e) provide a basis for adaptation
