Can judges stand up for roles as MPs?
No - judges are non-political and cannot stand for elections in Parliament. They are not permitted to be a part of the legislature.
Can the Lord Chancellor/Ministers intervene in legal cases / with the judiciary?
No - judiciary is an independent branch of the state, and no intervention is permitted. Ministers are barred from influencing judicial decisions
Which body is supreme and can overrule the judiciary?
Parliament. They can introduce or repeal any law. No court has the power to annul an Act of Palirament.
How are Judges removed from their positions?
A resolution of both Houses of Parliament is needed to remove a High Court judge from office, while judges at the lower levels can only be removed after disciplinary proceedings.
