- Raw Data
3
Q
What is a Census?
A
- Observing or Measuring every member of the Population

Q
What are the Disadvantages of a Census?
A
- Time consuming
- Expensive
- Difficult to ensure whole population is surveyed
- Cannot be used when testing destroys the sampling unit
- Hard to process the quantity of data
6
Q
What is a Sample?
A
- A selection of observations taken from a subset of the population which is used to find out information about the population as a whole
7
Q
What are the Advantages of using a Sample?
A
- Less time consuming
- Cheaper
- Useful when testing results in destruction of the sampling unit
8
Q
What are the Disadvantages of using a Sample?
A
- Data may not be accurate
- The sample may be too small to give information about small sub groups of the population
