Academic journals
A type of periodical that includes original research articles written by researchers and experts in a particular academic discipline, providing a forum for the production and critique of knowledge.
Articles
a piece of writing on a particular subject in a newspaper or magazine, or on the internet
Assess
to judge or decide the amount, value, quality or importance of something
Assignment
a long essay, often part of a course, usually thousands of words
Carry out
do something that needs to be organized and planned(=conduct)
- less formal than “do”
Composition
written work, 50-100 words
Cram for an exam
study intensively for a short time
Deadline
A date or time when a project, report, or assignment must be finished
Dissertation
a long piece of writing on a particular subject, especially one that is done in order to receive a degree at college or university
a long, research-based work, perhaps 10-15,000 words, for a degree or diploma
Essay
longer than a composition, more serious, hundreds or even thousands of words

Finals
the set of examinations that students take at the end of their time at university

a collection of individual pieces of work, not necessarily written

like an assignment, but emphasis on student’s own material and topic
