11. Automating Business Processes with Approvals Flashcards
What is an Approval Process?
Approval processes are single- or multi-step processes that require end-user authorization for record promotion.
Compare Workflow & Process Builder with Approval Processes.
What is meant by Skipping Steps?
- A skip step is a step that has criteria defined to determine whether or not this approval step is required.
- In approval processes that have steps that are optional depending on criteria, use the skip step feature.
- To skip steps, use filter criteria or formula, then choose what should happen to records that do not meet the criteria. The options are:
– Go to Next Step (skips this step and goes to the next step).
– Approve Record (approves the request and performs all final approval actions).
– Reject Record (rejects the request and performs all final rejection actions).
What do Approvers See?
Depending on Org setup and user settings they can see:
• Email
• Mobile App
• Approval Requests tab
• Notifications list (bell icon)
• Lightning Home Page (Items to Approve component)
• Record detail page (Approval History related list)
What are Parallel Approvers?
• With parallel approvers, a record can be sent for approval to up to 25 different users simultaneously.
