- Usually committed by a person of respectability; no criminal sanction is given.
- Sutherland; first person to bring up a theory about it.
- Offender = person of a high social status.
- Victim = people who are lower down the financial ladder/ people who work for the offender.
- Examples -> false accounting & overcharging.

- Usually committed by gangs and syndicates.
- Examples -> Fraud, serious robbery & high tech crimes.
- Offender = gangs/syndicates.
- Victim = people targeted by the gangs.

- An illegal act of omission & commission; usually punished by criminal sanction.
- Example -> embezzling from businesses.
- Offender = the company.
- Victim = employees/government/other companies.

- Examples -> fraud, burglary & embezzlement.
- Offender = people who specialise in a particular crime.
- Victim = people being targeted through this crime.

- Examples -> prostitution/underage drinking.
- Usually victimless.
- Sometimes individual can be victim & offender.

- Offender = government.
- Victim = general public.

- Offender = person using technology as abuse.
- Victim = person affected by the actions of the offender.

- Example -> honour killing; murdering of a person accused of bringing shame upon their family/community.
- Offender = family/community who holds honour very highly.
