What is modern strategic management?
Is not defined by a particular theory, but by its focus on a particular dependent variable: organizational performance and the role of managers shaping that performance.
Modern Strategic Management can be compromised by three central points. What are they?
Administrative man, strategic actions and performance dimensions.
What is the theory of human decision?
Behavioral theory of the firm.
How does the human mind absorb reality?
Psychology: cognition and affection.
What are the characteristics of an individual?
- Experience
- Narcissism
- Hubris
What is the social individual?
The individual within a social structure.
What is the unit?
The unit is not an individual, but a social individual, one who has a place in the social order.
What must we do to understand the individual? And the group?
To understand the individual, we must study him in his group setting. To understand the group, we must study the individuals whose interrelated actions constitute it.
What is identity (sociology)?
The mapping of an individual’s socially constructed self within a constellation of a social structure. It shapes cognition and affection, thus perception, strategic action, and finally performance.
