Back angle: Up to 30 degrees
Caution: At 500 AGL, Reconfigure for power on landing
“EMERGENCY AIRCRAFT SHUTDOWN” A/R
EMERGENCY EVACUATION
“EMERGENCY A/C SHUTDOWN” perform
Open emergency exits
Evacuate through nearest safe exit
EMERGENCY EVACUATION (WATER)
“EMERGENCY A/C SHUTDOWN” complete

Checklist
ILLUMINATES HEATER FIRE T- HANDLE
Heater switch OFF
Heater Fire T-handle: confirm / PULL
If fire persists: discharge BOT 1
EMERGENCY ENGINE SHUTDOWN
ECL confirm / STOP
Fire T-handle confirm / PULL
Fuel boost pump confirm / OFF
Single engine flight
DUAL ENGINE FAILURE - HOVER
Adjust collective to cushion
(30 kts best cushion speed)
DUAL ENGINE FAILURE IN FLIGHT
Perform Autorotation
Best glide:
85 KIAS above 2600 DA
65 KIAS below 2600 DA
SINGLE ENGINE FAILURE
Collective - adjust to maintain NR
Adjust airspeed
Engine beeps - both max
Checklist
LOTS OF NF SIGNAL
(FLEX SHAFT FAILURE)
Ground:
ECL’s (both) STOP
Flight:
Collective - adjust to maintain NR (usually RAISE)
Checklist
(Fuel control senses NF @ 0 so sends all the fuel and affected engine goes to topping. Other engine reduces power since its load id reduced. Easy to mistake this as an engine failure initially since good engine is reducing power. Recognize ZERO NF on triple tach. Don’t shut down the good engine!)
ALL ABNORMAL ENGINE INSTRUMENT INDICATIONS OR WARNING LIGHTS
Check for secondary indications
Checklist
FOR EVERY EMERGENCY / ABNORMAL CONDITION:
Fly the aircraft
Contain RRPM
LAND IMMEDIATELY (definition)
Land without delay.
Pilots are to bear in mind that the consequences of continued flight are likely to be more hazardous than, for example, ditching, or landing in trees.
LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (definition)
Land at the nearest suitable landing area (i.e. open field) without delay.
The consideration is the survival of occupants.
LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE ( definition )
Land at the nearest suitable airfield/heliport.
Extended flight is not recommended.
EMERGENCY ENGINE SHUTDOWN (definition)
Shut down engine(s) without delay. Engine shutdown in flight is usually not an immediate action unless a fire exists.
Before shutting down an engine, identify the affected
engine by checking indications of RRPM, T5, engine oil
and fuel pressure.
OEI WATER LANDING / DITCHING
Checklist
ELECTRICAL FIRE - KNOWN SOURCE
System switch or breaker: OFF / PULL
If fire persists:
“CABIN / COCKPIT FIRE - FLIGHT” perform
