General order 1
To take charge of this post and all government property in view

Inherent right of Self defense
-When someone poses an imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm to DoD persons.
-As well as defense of other DoD persons in the vicinity
Ex.-when someone is trying to kill you or another DoD person in the vicinity
Defense of others
-In Defense of non-DoD persons in the vicinity when directly related to assigned activity or mission
Ex.- If you see someone on the street being beat to death you can use deadly force to stop the attacker
Assets vital to National Security
-When deadly force is needed to prevent theft or sabotage of assets vital to national security
Ex.-Theft of nuclear codes
Inherently Dangerous Property
When deadly force is needed to prevent theft or sabotage of inherently dangerous property
Ex.-Theft of Nukes
National critical infrastructure
To prevent the sabotage or destruction of national critical infrastructure
Ex- prevent the destruction of a city’s power grid
Serious Offenses against persons
- Prevent the committing of a serious offense that involves imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm (ex. Sniping)
-As well as the defense of other persons when deadly force is directed against the person threatening to commit the offense (ex. Armed robbery, murder, aggravated assault)
Arrest or apprehension
When it appears that deadly force is needed to arrest or apprehend someone that with proper evidence is believed to have committed a serious offense
-As well as there is imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm to DoD personnel or other persons in the vicinity as stated in Suboaragraph 4.d.(3) through 4.d.(6)
Ex. When someone is attempting to kill the president you can use deadly force to attempt to apprehend or arrest the suspect
Escape
-When someone escapes that has committed or attempted to commit a serious offense that involves imminent threat of death or bodily harm
-As well as be an imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm to DoD personnel or others in the vicinity
Ex.- When a murder has escaped and is attempting to kill someone within or outside the DoD
