  • cleanses child of original sin, so if the child dies baptism has already washed away original sin and the child is reunited with God
  • baptism gives protection and security to the child in their next life
  • gives child a means of support if anything happens to their parents, they now have their Godparents

  • the completion of baptism and we start our mission and journey of faith to do God’s work
  • gain the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which guide us in life to do good
  • gain a relationship with your sponsor who helps guide and support us, we can have a spiritual bond

  • sin is not personal, when we sin we hurt someone
  • therefore we need to say sorry in a public way, even if what we’ve done is kept secret
  • doing this makes us feel as if we have reconciled with everyone we’ve hurt

  • mends our relationship with God, makes us happy and helps us in hard times
