Aboriginal people comprised many different cultural groups across Australia. They were separated by geography and languages. Customs and cultures were different.
Explain what “seasonal rotation” meant with regard to the indigenous Australians.
‘Seasonal rotation’ describes how many groups moved around their region according to the seasons.
What needs of the Aboriginal people were met by the environment around them?
All their needs included nourishment, clothing and tools were met by the environment.
What were some of the medicinal remedies the aboriginal people found in nature?
Some remedies were-
• A tea made from river mint leaves
• A paste made from grubs healed burns
• Smoke from gum leaves
How important were social gatherings to the aboriginal people?
Social gatherings were important to-

“Mangrook” is the game indigenous played with a possum skin ball.

They were connected to the land because “spiritually”, they belonged to the land.

All living things present on the land they belong to. Animals, plants, caves, rocks, river, waterholes. They were part of country and sacred. Creation spirits are also included in ‘country’.
