Anocracy
A country that is not fully democratic or fully autocratic, but rather a mix of the two.
State
An area organized into a political unit and ruled by an established government that has control over its internal and foreign affairs
Gerrymandering
Process of redrawing legislative boundaries for the purpose of benefits the party in power
Frontier
A zone of territory where no state has governing authority
Perforated State
a state that completely surrounds another state. Two classic examples are Italy, which completely surrounds San Marino and the Vatican, and South Africa, which completely surrounds Lesotho.
Landlocked State
lacks direct outlet to sea surrounded by other countries.
Unitary State
Authority of government with very little local power,no hierarchy or sovereign powers, few cultural differences.
Governemtnis held primarily by the central government.

Federal State
a system of government where power is shared (in various arrangements) between a centralized government and various regional authorities.
Prorupted State
Access or Distribution
a state that has a primary body of territory that comprises most of the state, but that also has a long extension that can dramatically increase the territorial power and significance of the country.
Ex. Thailand
Boundary
An invisible line that marks the outer limits of a state’s territory
