2L of enzymic HCO3- rich fluid a day, stimulated by secretin and CCK
- secretin = made by s-cells of duodenum, controls gastric acid secretion and buffering with HCO3-
- CCK = stimulate digestion of fat and protein, made by I-cells in the duodenum, causes release of digestive enzymes
