Standing in the way of Hitler’s dictatorship was the president, the reichstag and the army were preventing his rise to power. In additon there may be opposition from other parties, germany state gov as well as the trade union movements
What two initial actions did Hitler take against the SPD and KPD?
Hitler’s first two actions against the SPD and the KPD were in early February 1933 a new law forbid newspapers and public meetings from criticising the new chancellor and his adminisration. In the state of Prussia, the minister of the interior, Hermann Goring ensured that the SA were enrolled into the police and were used to disrupt opposition parties election campaigns.
