Message received and understood.
What is indicated by 10-6?
Busy but available for a call.
What does 10-7 signify?
Crew is at a location - usually on scene, at hospital, or at station and may be contacted on portable or hotline.
What does 10-8 refer to?
Crew is travelling, usually enroute to a scene/location or enroute/transporting to a hospital/destination. Most often can be contacted by radio.
What does 10-9 mean?
Message not received or understood, repeat message.
What is the meaning of 10-19?
Returning to station.
What does 10-20 ask?
What is your location?
What is the purpose of 10-33?
Used to alert dispatch of a life-threatening situation from a crew.
What does Code 1 indicate?
Unauthorized listeners - guard transmissions. Used when person(s) other than ambulance crew may overhear communications.
What does Code 2 signify?
Routine response - lights and sirens not required.
What does Code 3 require?
Emergency response - lights and sirens required.
What does Code 4 refer to?
Reference to death.
What does Code 5 represent?
Police department.
What does Code 6 denote?
Fire department.
What is Code 7 used for?
Dispatch use only. Referring to routine call which should not be held or diverted. Old terminology that is not commonly used with current system.
What does Code 9 signify?
Caution - infections patient (i.e. HIV/AIDS).
What is the purpose of Code 33?
