What is ventricular fibrillation and why is it a medical emegency?

A

Impulses from numerous ectopic sites in ventricular muscle… abnormal, chaotic, fast ventricular depolarisation… no co-ordinated contraction - ventricles quiver… no CO… cardiac arrest.
