Satire

And indirect reference to a famous person, place, event, or literary work.

Feeling or atmosphere author creates for reader.

Comfort from sorrow or misfortune.
External Conflict
Character pitted against outside force.
Structure
The way in which the parts of a work of literature are put together.
Alliteration
The repetition of consonant sounds at the beginning of words.
Surprise Ending
An unexpected plot twist at the end of the story.
Extended Metaphor
A figure of speech that compares 2 basically unlike things at some length and in several ways.
Parallelism
The use of similar grammatical constructions to express ideas that are related or equal in importance.
Internal Conflict
Conflict within character.
Hierarchy
A body of persons having authority.
