Austria
Bohemia-Moravia given to new state of Czechoslovakia
Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia given to Yugoslavia
Galicia given to Poland
Army Restricted to 30,000
Economic Difficulty and national self-determination
Treaty of Neuilly, 1919
Bulgaria
Lost Terrirotry to Yugoslavia, Greece and Bulgaria
Army limited to 20,000 and paid 100 million pounds in reparation
Treaty of Trianon, 1920
Hungary
Lost a substantial amount of territory, with 3 million Hungarians ending up in other countries.
Due to pay reparations but economy was so weak and it never did.
Treaty of Sevres, 1920
Turkey
Breakdown of the Ottoman Empire, with all foreign territories removed, with parts of turkey becoming zones of influence
Armenia and Kurdistan became independent regions and Turkish tax and finance was to be controlled by the Allies.
The military was also limited to 50,000 with an airforce strictly banned
Treaty of Lausanne, 1923
Turkey
Renegotiation of Sevres
Massive Outrage and anger, led to nationalist uprising led by Attaturk. Possible genocide of Armenians
Forced the French and British to renegotiate terms. Accepted as their economy was weak, and Turkey wasn’t a threat.
Armenia became part of the Soviet Union
Formally recognised in 1923, with Smyrna, Anatolia and Thrace becoming parts of Turkey
