How are black and Asian pupils viewed?
a. Far from the ‘ideal’ pupil
b. Black students- seen as disruptive

a. Teachers were quicker to discipline black pupils than others for the same behaviour due to ‘racialised expectations’
b. This may explain the higher levels of exclusions for black boys
