1--Holy Scriptures Flashcards
1–The Holy Scriptures
The Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testament’s, are the written word of God, given by divine inspiration. The inspired or authors spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Scriptures are the supreme, authoritative, and the infallible revelation of His will.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Psa 119:105
““Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.”
Prov 39:5-6
“Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.”
Isaiah 8:20
“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”
John 17:17
“And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
1 Thess 2:13
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Tim 3:16
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
Heb 4:12
“For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
