What is schizophrenia
a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behaviour, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.
What causes Schizophrenia
The exact causes of schizophrenia are unknown. Research suggests a combination of physical, genetic, psychological and environmental factors can make a person more likely to develop the condition.
What is Dis-organised Schizophrenia
Disorganized schizophrenia, or hebephrenia, refers to incoherent and illogical thoughts and behaviors related to schizophrenia.

What is Simple Schizophrenia
Appears late adolescence and has a slow, gradual onset.
Principally the individual withdraws from reality
Difficulty in making or keeping friends,
Aimless and lacks drive,
Shows a decline in academic or occupational performance.
What is paranoid Schizophrenia
Paranoid Schizophrenia shows the highest level of awareness and least impairment.
The individual appears normal however is characterised by the two symptoms of irrational thoughts.

Define Catatonic Schizophrenia
Is serious neurological or psychological condition in which two kinds of behaviors are typically displayed: stupor and motor rigidity or excitement. When people experience rigidity or stupor, they are unable to speak, respond or even move
Symptoms of Catatonic Schizophrenia
Agitation - for no known reason
Mutism - limited verbal response
Posturing - actively holding a posture against gravity
Mannerism - carrying out odd, exaggerated actions
Waxy flexibility - if an examiner places the patient’s arm in a position, they will maintain this position until it is moved again
What is Undifferentiated Schizophrenia
is a categorization for people who do not fit into the previous categories. While such individuals do experience significant delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, or disorganized or catatonic behavior, their symptoms are not predominantly positive, disorganized, or movement disordered.
Define Residual Schizophrenia
A condition occurring in individuals with a history of schizophrenic episodes who are making a recovery usually with the help of medicine
