- お誕(たん)生(じょう)日(び)はいつですか。どこで生(う)まれましたか。
a. When is your birthday? Where were you born?
i. I was born on the 27th of July in 2008 in Hanoi Vietnam. Hanoi is a very bustling city and has lots of people. I have lots of relatives who live in Hanoi like my cousins, so I want to go visit them sometimes.
ii. 私は二千八年七月二十七日にベトナムのハノイで生まれました。ハノイはとてもにぎやかな町でたくさんの人がいますから、ちょっとうるさいですが、ハノイにはたくさんのしんせきがいますから、時々会いに行ってみたいです。
- ご家族は何人ですか。あなたの家族について教えてください。
a. How many people in your family? Please talk about your family.
i. 4 people, mum, dad, little sister, me. My dad is very strong and smart and did a kitchen renovation in about 3 weeks by himself! My mum is very good at gardening and because she can grow vegetables in the garden, we don’t need to by vegetables.
ii. 私の家族は四人で、母と父と妹と私です。お父さんはとてもつよくてあたまがいいです。キッチンのかいそうは三週間くらいで一人でしました。お母さんガーデニングがとても上手で、やさいをそだてることができますから、やさいをかわなくてもいいです。
- ペットを飼(か)っていますか。
a. Do you have a pet?
i. I did ant keeping in year 9 to 10. Ant keeping is cheaper than having a pet dog or cat and they take up less space in the house. Although ant keeping was very fun, I had to stop ant keeping because school life was so busy.
ii. 中学校三年生から、高校一年生まで、アリをかったことがあります。アリはいぬやねこよりせわをするのはかんたんで、家の中でたくさんばしょをとりません。でも、高校一年生の時に学校がいそがしくなたから、アリをかうのうやめました。

a. What jobs do your parents do? Where do they work?
i. My dad is a flood researcher. He works in an office in the city. He usually drives from home but sometimes he goes to work using the train as well. My mum is an accountant. She works in an office about 15 minutes from home.
ii. 私の父はこうずいのけんきゅうしゃをしています。私の父はしないのオフィスではたらいて、たいていは車で仕事に行きますが、時々電車で仕事に行くことができます。私の母は会けいしをしています。私の母は車で、家からオフィスまで十五分くらいかかります。
- ご兄弟はいますか。何人いますか。何才ですか。時々けんかをしますか。
a. Do you have siblings? How many? How old? Do you sometimes fight?
i. Yes. I have a little sister who is 9 years old. Normally, we get along well however, sometimes, she could be a little bit annoying so that is not good.
ii. はい、私は九才のいもうとがいます。たいていはなかがいいですが、時々妹はすこしうるさくなることがありますから、それはよくないです。けんかをあまりしないほうがいいと思います。

a. What is your hobby? What do you have an interest in?
i. My hobby is playing the guitar. I started playing electric guitar in year 7 and I practice four times every week. I have an interest in Japanese city pop and singers like Nakahara Meiko and bands like spectrum
ii. 私のしゅみはギターをひくことです。中学一年生の時に、ギターをはじめて、毎週、四回れんしゅしています。今、日本のシティポップにきょうみがあります。そして、なかはらめいこさんのうたやSPECTRUMというバンドが好きです。
- あなたは何がとくいですか。
a. What are you good at?
i. I am good at karate. I started karate in year 8 and I am able to go on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday every week. Although doing karate is fun, my teacher is very strict, so I have to try my best every time.
ii. 私はからてがとくいです。中学二年生の時に、からてをはじめて、毎週月曜日と火曜日と木曜日にれんしゅうに行きます。からてをすることがたのしいですけど先生はとてもきびしいから、毎かい、がんばってしなくてはだめです。
- りょうりができますか。
a. Can you cook?
i. Yes, I can cook, however, I normally do not cook and only sometimes cook on the weekends and after I get home late from karate practice.
ii. はい、りょうりができますけど、たいてい家にいる時は、りょうりをしません。でも週末やから手のれんしゅうの後で帰りがおそい時に食べ物をりょうりします。
- がっきをならっていますか。何才からしていますか。
a. Do you learn an instrument? From what age?
i. I learn the electric guitar. I did it from when I was 13 years old. I did classical guitar in year 6 but I thought it was boring.
ii. 私はエレキギターをならっています。十三才の時からしています。小学六年生の時に、クラシカルギターをひきましたがつまらないと思いました。
- あなたのなかのいい友だちはだれですか。どんな人ですか。
a. Who is your good friend? What type of person are they?
i. My good friend is William. He is smarter than me and knows a lot about soccer. Although he knows a lot about soccer, I am better than him at soccer.
ii. 私のなかのいいともだちはウィリアムさんです。ウィリアムさんは私よりあたまがよく、サッカーについてたくさんしっていますが私のほうがサッカーが上手です。
- あなたの町をかんたんにしょうかいしてください。あなたの近所はどんな所(ところ)ですか。
a. Please introduce your town. What kind of place is your neighbourhood?
i. My city is called Bayswater and is located a little bit north of Perth. Because there are lots of shops, gas stations and a train station nearby, I think my neighbourhood is very convenient,
ii. 私の町はベイズウォーターという町です。ベイズウォーターはパースのすこし北にあります。たくさんの店やガソリンスタンドや駅がちかくにありますから、私の近所はとてもべんりだと思います。
- パースはどんな所ですか。
a. What kind of city is Perth?
i. Although Perth is a very clean and amazing city, during the summer, I think it is very hot so I often go to the beach with my family to swim in the cold water.
ii. パースはとてもきれいですごいまちですが、夏の間はとてもあついと思いますから、よく家族といっしょにうみに行って、つめたいみずの中でおよぎます。およいだあとで、きぶんがよくなります。
- 日本人の友だちがいますか。どんな人ですか。
a. Do you have Japanese friends? What kind of person are they?
i. Yes. His name is Leo and we have been friends since primary school. Although his dad is Australian, his mum is Japanese so he can speak a little bit of Japanese. I think he is a kinｄ person and he is very short.
ii. はい、日本人の友達がいます。彼の名前はリオで、私たちは小学校からの友達です。リオのお父さんはオーストラリア人ですけど、お母さんは日本人なので、リオは日本語を少し話すことができます。彼はやさしくてちょっとせがひくい人だったと思います。
- 日本人りゅう学生のホストファミリーになったことがありますか。
a. Have you ever been a host family for Japanese exchange student?
i. No. I want to try being host family for a Japanese exchange student however, my parents say that our house doesn’t have enough rooms so I can’t be a host family for Japanese student.
ii. いいえ。私は日本人りゅう学生のホストファミリーになったことはありません。私のりょうしんは私たちの家はじゅうぶんに広くないから、ホストファミリーになってはいけないと言います。
- 毎(まい)朝(あさ)、何時におきますか。朝おきてから、何をしますか。
a. Every morning what time do you wake up, what do you do after waking?
i. Every morning, I wake up at 7:00. After I wake up, I normally eat breakfast, brush my teeth then pack for school. I then bike to the station which takes about 5 minutes.
ii. 毎朝、私はふつう七時におきます。おきた後で朝ごはんを食べて、はをみがて、そして学校のじゅんびをします。〜時に家をでなければならなくて、それから、じてんしゃで、駅まで行きます。（ふつう五分ぐらいかかります。）
- 読(どく)書(しょ)が好きですか。どんな本をよく読みますか。
a. Do you like reading? What sort of books do you often read?
i. Yes, I like reading. I like reading manga. When I was a child, I liked to read Doraemon and Crayon Shin-chan. Now, I am interested in a manga called Great teacher Onizuka (GTO) because my friend said it was a very famous and interesting manga.
ii. はい、読書が好きです。とくに、私はマンガが好きです。子どもの時に、「ドラえもん」と「クレヨンしんちゃん」を読むことがすきでした。今、友だちがとてもゆうめいでおもしろいと言ったから、「GTO」というマンガを読むことにきょうみがあります。
- テレビをよく見ますか。どんなばんぐみが好きですか。
a. Do you watch tv? What programs do you like?
i. When I was little, my parents said I was allowed to watch tv after I practice piano. I liked a program called Octonauts. Octonauts was a program about the sea and it was very interesting.
ii. いいえ、今テレビをよく見ませんけれど、子どもの時に、りょうしんはピアノをれんしゅした後で、テレビを見てもいいと言いました。テレビを見る時、オクトノーツというばんぐみがすきでした。オクトノーツは海について話していて、とてもおもしろいと思いました。
- 友だちといっしょにどんなことをしますか。何をするのが好きですか。
a. What things do you do with your friends? What do you like to do?
i. I often play computer games with my friends, however, my parents say that I am not allowed to play games during the week days. Other than that, I also like to talk about manga with my friends online.
ii. 私はよく友達とコンピューターゲームをしています。でも、りょうしんはへい日はゲームをしてはいけないと言います。ほかには、チャットで友達と色々なマンガについて話すことが好きです。
- 週末にご家族とたいてい何をしますか。どんなことをするのが好きですか。
a. What do you normally do with family on weekends? What thing do you like to do?
i. During the weekends, we normally go shopping for groceries at a department store called Costco after we finish cleaning the house. Sometimes we would bike to the park near our house and have a picnic there which is very fun, so I like it.
ii. 週末には、ふつう家族とコストコというデパートにしょくりょうひんを買いに行きます。でも、その前に、家のそうじをおわらせなければならなりません。時々家の近くのこうえんまで、じてんしゃで行って、そこで、ピクニックをします。それはとてもたのしいので、好きです。
- ひまな時にどんなことをするのが好きですか。
a. During your free time, what do you like to do?
i. During my free time, my favourite thing to do is to play guitar or watch videos about insects or games on YouTube. However, if I have a test, I will study during my free time.
ii. ひまな時にギターをひいたり、ユーチューブでむしやゲームのビデオを見ることが好きです。でも、テストがある時に、べんきょうしなくてはいけません。
- あなたの学校はどんな学校ですか。
a. What sort of school is your school?
i. My school is an old school. To get into my school, you have to pass a hard entrance exam. You used to have to wear black dress shoes but now because the school is less strict, it is ok to wear black sneakers.
ii. 私の学校は古いです。学校に入るには、たいへんなしけんにごうかくしなければならなりません。いぜん（まえは）、黒いかわぐつをはかなければならなりませんでしたが、今はいぜんよりきびしくないから、黒いスニーカーをはいてもいいです。
- 学校でどんなかもくを勉(べん)強(きょう)していますか。
a. What subjects do you study at your school?
i. At school, I study maths, English, Japanese, philosophy and biology. Because I am not good at English, I have to write one practice essay every week.
ii. 学校ですう学と英語と日本語とせいぶつ学とてつ学をべんきょうしています。英語はあまりとくいじゃないですから、週に一回（いっかい）、さくぶんのれんしゅうをしなければなりません。
- 好きなかもくは何ですか。なぜですか。
a. What subjects do you like? Why?
i. Although I like Japanese, Philosophy and Biology, I love insects, so my favourite subject is Biology. Biology is very fun and last week, we were allowed to go to the worm farm to look at worms.
ii. 日本語とてつ学とせいぶつ学がすきですが、こんちゅうるいが大好きですから一番好きなかもくはせいぶつ学です。せいぶつ学はとてもたのしくて、先週ミミズファームにミミズを見に行ってもよかったから、見に行きました。とてもおもしろかったです。
- 昼(ひる)休みの間に何をしますか。
a. What do you do during lunch?
i. During lunch, I play volleyball with my friends. My friends go to volleyball club after school so I think that they are better than me at volleyball.
ii. 昼休みの時に友達とバレーボールをします。去年、私たちはバレーボールを始めました。でも、私の友達はほうかごのバレーボールぶに行くので、私より、上手だと思います。
