Where do you work?
I work from home as an Amazon seller, focusing on selling pillowcases online every day. This role allows me to effectively balance my career with family responsibilities.
Is it a good place to work?
I can’t complain about my workplace to be honest, since I am lucky enough to work at home. And being the boss of my own company means I don’t have to report to anyone, which makes working from home even more satisfying.
Would you like the place where you work to make any changes?
There are no changes I would want made to my workplace which is my home. I love being at home because it doesn’t feel like an office space; I can sleep whenever I want..
How important is it to you to have work that you enjoy doing?
Doing work I love, as an Amazon seller, allows me to dedicate myself fully to my passion. Overcoming challenges in this field has been very rewarding, enabling me to become the breadwinner for my family. I strongly believe in the importance of enjoying your work.”
How long have you lived in your area?
“I have lived in Kunming for about 4 years now. I first moved here when I got the job with Save the Children International, and I have been living in this house ever since I arrived.”
Do people of all ages live in your area?
Yes, people of all ages live in my area because it’s a large new community. You can see a wide range of ages here, from babies in their mothers’ arms to elderly people with gray hair. The diversity of residents creates a dynamic atmosphere in the neighborhood
Is the area where you live a friendly place?
Yes, it’s a very friendly area. As a dog owner, I often meet other dog owners, and we chat while walking our dogs. When I’m not at home, they even help by walking my dog. This mutual support shows how friendly our community is.”
What do you like about the area where you live now?
As a dog owner, I find this area very dog-friendly. First, the environment is beautiful and clean, with lots of green spaces that are perfect for my dog to run around. Second, the people are very friendly. I often chat with other dog owners, and they sometimes help walk my dog when I’m not home. This friendly atmosphere and sense of community make the area very enjoyable to live in.
Is your area now busy or quiet？
In my area, it’s quite busy. During the day, there’s a bustling market across the street where locals gather to shop for groceries. At night, construction crews are busy building a new residential complex nearby.
Do you know many other people who live nearby?
“I don’t know many other people who live nearby. I get to know about five other dog owners because we often chat while walking our dogs. Besides them, I haven’t had much opportunity to get to know others in the area.”
What kind of house or apartment do you want to have in the future?
In the future, I would like to live in an apartment with five rooms： a master bedroom, a guest room, a study, and two children’s rooms, as my husband and I plan to have two kids. Currently, our apartment only has three rooms, which won’t be enough in the future.”
Do you come from a city, town or village?
I come from Ningbo, a beautiful coastal city in China. Ningbo is known for its stunning seascapes and rich cultural heritage. The city blends modernity with tradition, featuring skyscrapers alongside ancient temples. As a major port city, it plays a crucial role in international trade.
What do you like about your home city/town/village?
I like Ningbo because it has incredibly fresh seafood, which I love. The city is economically developed but not as busy as Shanghai, so ppl here can enjoy a balanced lifestyle. Living in Ningbo is very comfortable.
Is your home city/town/village a good place for young people?
Yes, my home city, Ningbo, is a great place for young people. It offers numerous opportunities for career growth due to its vibrant economy and expanding job market. The city’s universities and colleges provide quality education, attracting students from across the country.
How often do you eat chocolate?
I rarely eat chocolate because most chocolates are too sweet for my taste. I find myself indulging in chocolate only occasionally, perhaps once every few months. When I do, I prefer dark chocolate for its richer flavor and less sweetness.
