Q

Double circulation

A

Pulmonary circulation and systematic circulation

Pulmonary circulation :
The deoxygenated blood pumped into Pulmonary artery is passed on to lungs that oxygenated blood is carried by pulmonary veins into left atrium.

Systemic circulation:
The oxygenated blood entering the aorta
Is carried by a network of arteries, arterioles and capillaries to the tissues from where the deoxygenated blood is collected by a system of venule, veins and Vena Kava and emotied into right atrium

Q

Systemic circulation provides

A

Provides nutrients, Oxygen and other essential substances to the tissues and takes carbon dioxide and other harmful substances away for elimination

Q

QRS Complex represents

A

The depolarization of ventricles which initiates The ventricular contraction

Contractions start shortly after Q and marks the beginning of systole

Q

T wave represents

A

Return of ventricles from excited to normal state
End of the way marks the end of systole

Q

Tricuspid and bicuspid valve

A

Opening between right Atrium and right ventricle
Is guarded by valve formed of 3 muscular flaps or cusps called the tricuspid valve

Bicuspid or mitral valve Guards the opening between left atrium and left ventricle

Q

Functions of semilunar Valve

A

It allow flow of blood only in one direction
That is from the Atria to the ventricles and from the ventricles to the pulmonary artery or aorta
These valve prevent back flow of blood

Q

S a n

A

Specialised cardiac musculature called the nodal tissue is also distributed to the right upper corner of the right Atrium called SAN

Q

A v n

A

Another mass of tissue is seen in the Lower left corner right Atrium close to atrio ventricular septum called atrio ventricular node

Q

What is purkinje fibres

A

A bundle of nodal fibres,atRio ventricular bundle (av bundle ) continuous from a v n passes through at Rio ventricular septa emerge on the top of Inter ventricular septum and divide into a right and left bundle these branches give rise to minute fibres throughout the ventricular musculature these are called purkinje fibres

Q

Fibres along with the right and left bundles are

A

Bundle of his

These nodal musculature has the ability to generate action potential without an external stimuli

Q

Pace maker of heart

A

S a n can generate maximum number of action potential
That is 70 to 75 minutes and is responsible for initiating maintaining contractile activity of heart and it is called pacemaker

Q

Cardiac output

A

Volume of blood pumped out by each ventricle per minute and average 5000 ml for 5 L in a healthy individual
