1 Flashcards
produce by monocyte, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and some extent all cells
- enconded by different genes on chromosome
- induced by inflammation and resultd in profuction of other cytokines
Interleukin I ( IL1)
stimulates growth and activation of T Lymphocyte B lymphocyte and natural killer cells
it is encoded on the long arm of chromosome 4 and produced by activated T cells
Interleukin 2 ( IL2)
a multipotential colony stimulating factor that gas activity snalogous to that of GM-CSF but on an earlier level
it is encoded on the long arm of chromosome 5
it is produced by t cells and nass cells and imparts its activities indirectly by stimulating other cytokines
it helps EPO during erythropoeisis
Interleukin 3 ( IL3)
produced by activated T cells and has multiple activities including stimulation of activated B cells, T cells, macrophages, and mast cells. It induces isotype switching from Ig G go Ig E in B cells
induces IL2 receptor expanssion on T cells, and induces G-CSF and M-CSF in monocytes
Interleukin 4 (IL4)
activates cytotix T cells, induces immunoglobulin secretion and stimulates eosinophil
it is encoded on the long arm of chromosome 5 and produced by activated T cells
Interleukin 5 ( IL5)
an active factor that appears to exert its influence indirectly througg synergy with other factors
it functins along with IL3 to increase replication of myeloid precursor, synergize with IL2 and IL4 and stimulate platelet production.
It is encoded on the short arm of chromosome 7
Interleukin 6 (IL6)
a less described growth factor that stimulates production of immaturr lymphoid ( pre B and pre T). cells
Interleukin 7 ( IL7)
a chemotactic factor for neutrophils and T cells
it is produced by activated T cells
Interleukin 8 ( IL8)
a T cell growth factor and mast cell activating factor that also has effects in stimulating erythroid and myeloid proliferation
it is encoded on chromosome 5
Interleukin 9 (IL9)
promotes formation of antigen specific Ig secreting B cells and synergize with IL3 to stimulate megakaryocyte production and pluripotential stem cell proliferation
it is encoded on the long arm or chromosome 19
Interleukin 11 ( IL11)
a lymphocyte regulatory cytokine that inhibits the subset of T helper cells
inhibits IL 2 and IL 3. tumor neurosis factor ( TNF) gamma interferon, and GM -CSF .
it also stimulate thymocytes and mast cells
Interleukin 10 (IL10)
stimulates NK cells, T4 and T8 cells
Interleukin 12 (IL12)
produced by activated T cells and shows activity similar to that of IL4
including anti-inflammatory effects on the macrophages and regulation of B cell functions
it does not stimulate T cells
Interleukin 13 (IL13)
also called high-molecular weight B cell growth factor has effects on B cell maturation
it induces B cell proliferation
inhibits immunoglobulin secretion and induces selective expansion of B cell population
it is produced by T cells and some malignant B cells
Interleukin 14 (IL14)
a T cell growth factor produces by a variety of tissues
it shares activities with IL2
Interleukin 15 (IL15)
