Q

What is the purpose of the atrias ? What is the purpose of the ventricles?

Q

Primary reason for chf and definition

Second reason for chf

A

First reason myocardial infarction- insufficient blood flow to the heart or a part of the heart and causes Damage to cardiac muscles

Second reason, pumping chambers enlarged and weaken , such as in cardiomyopathy and hypertension where ventricles cannot eject all the blood they receive

17
Q

Describe the locations of heart failure.

A

Left-sided heart failure, blood congested in the left ventricle and left atrium, high flow causes fluid to get into the alveoli, gas exchange becomes impaired, cells become hypoxic and carbon dioxide accumulates in the blood. right sided heart failure, right ventricle cannot forcefully contract to push blood into pulmonary artery. Congestion of blood and backflow accumulate in right ventricle, right atrium
