(1, 1) – Major Programmes and Projects: Impact on Supply Chain Relationships Flashcards
What is the difference between a project and a programme?

PM’s are too vague and misunderstood
Project teams are set up too quickly and lack documented agreements
What 7 elements did Meredith and Mantel break down a project into?
Interdependence – many tasks and activities are interdependent
Importance – The project must be recognised as important
Performance – Projects have clearly defined results
Life Cycle and Finite Date
Uniqueness – most projects have an element of uniqueness
Resource – financial, human and other resources
Conflict – PM’s will have to deal with conflict
What is a WBS?
A “work breakdown structure” has multiple levels which are used to separate the project. E.g.
Level 1 activities determine scope of project
Level 2 activities breakdown the project into high level deliverables
Level 3 activities are lower level and must be completed to achieve level 2 goals
Level 4 activities are tasks needed to complete level 3 goals
