Q

How is the Gregorian calendar set up?

A

The calendar starts at 1 AD when historians estimate Jesus Christ was born.
Anything before that is called “BC.”
Anything after that is called “AD.”

Historians now also use BCE (Before the Common Era) to talk about the time before 1 AD and CE (Common Era) to talk about “AD”.
