Statistic Function
A
function of data and the data alone, essentially with no considerations of any other parameters

statistic which takes a guess at the parameter theta (θ)

A
an estimator is a random variable and it inherits its distribution from that of the data Xi

Consistency vs. Inconsistency
A
if it converges (in probability) to its true target written theta hat of n to theta it is consistent, on the contrary, if not consistent it is inconsistent

Bias vs. Unbiased
A
estimator of E(theta heat of n) - theta. if an estimator’s bias value of zero for all theta then it is considered unbiased
