01 Airplane General (Revised) Flashcards
What is the function of the Common Core System (CCS)?
The CCS provides a common computing network and data exchange system for the majority of airplane systems
What are the main components of the CCS?
The Common Computing Resource (CCR), which has a left and right cabinet
When power (battery, external or APU) is applied to the aircraft: -
a. Which CCR starts up first?
b. How long does this process take?
c. When will the opposite CCR start up?
d. What indicates both CCRs are on-line?
a. The left CCR
b. Approximately2-3minutes
c. When the L CCR completes start-up and a power source other than the battery is available
d. When all displays and the HUD combiners show their default formats
Which lights activate when the STORM lights is switched ON?
All illuminated indicator lights Glareshield flood lights Instrument panel flood lights Aisle stand flood lights Forward dome lights
If electrical power is lost, which lighting continues to operate?
Aisle stand
Left and right forward panel and glare shield floodlights
Dome lights illuminate automatically at a fixed brightness.
a. How would you identify the individual lighting controls that operate with the Master Brightness control system?
b. List the actions to control panel and display lighting by means of the Master Brightness control system.
c. Are the individual controls still effective when the Master Brightness system is working?
a. They all have a centre detent position identified by a white dot at the mid-range adjustment position.
b. Ensure individual controls are centred in the detent then push MASTER BRIGHT switch ON
c. The individual controls have limited adjustment capability when the MASTER BRIGHTNESS switch is on
a. When the FASTEN SEAT BELTS sign is at AUTO, list the conditions that would illuminate the sign.
b. If the Passenger Signs selector is at OFF, what condition will cause automatic illumination of the signs?
c. When would the ‘Return to Seat’ signs NOT work with the fasten seat belt signs?
a. Landing Gear not up and locked. Flap lever at 5 or greater. Aircraft altitude below an airline defined altitude. Cabin altitude above 10,000 feet. Passenger oxygen on. b. When passenger oxygen is ON c. When oxygen is deployed
From where do the Emergency lights obtain their power?
Remote batteries
For how long will a fully charged emergency lights system operate?
10 minutes
When would the EICAS advisory message EMER LIGHTS display?
The emergency lights switch is not in the ARMED position, or the emergency lights are on
Why is the EMER LIGHTS switch put to OFF before electrical power is turned OFF?
To prevent emergency lights system operation
Where is the crew oxygen pressure displayed?
The STATUS display
How is oxygen flow indicated on the crew oxygen stowage box?
A yellow cross in stowage box indicator
How is the crew mask emergency oxygen supply selected?
Turning emergency rotary selector on the mask
How many oxygen systems are fitted to the aircraft?
Two, Flight Crew and Passenger
