What was the Paris peace conference?
In the January of 1919, 32 winning countries met in the palace of Versailles, led by the leaders of Britain, France, and the USA.
What did France want?
- Georges Clemenceau wanted revenge on Germany.
- Difinitively remove German threat and cripple the country.
What did Britain want at the PPC?
- David Lloyd George wanted revenge, but was wary of another war breaing out.
- Preserve British status
What did the USA want at the PPC?
- Woodrow Wilson wanted a peaceful world.
- Establishment to the league of nations (so coutried could work/trade together = less inevitable war.)
What was the cease-fire at the end of WW1 called?
Armstice.
World War One ended on 11 November 1918, when Germany surrendered to the allies.
What is the Treaty of Versailles?

To get revenge; to cripple it so heavily that it wouldn’t dare stirke another attack against France.
What did Britain want to do with Germany?
They wanted to reduce its navy, but keep Gernamny strong so Britain could keep trading with it, and to stop other countries in Europe from becoming too powerful.

They wanted world peace as no fighting took place on American soil.
