What is the role of ICT in the workplace?
- Work wherever (with access to computer+internet)
- Communicate more effectively
- Store+process vast quantities of data
- Identify+adapt to changing trends (eg. sales)
- Perform tasks that are difficult/challenging for humans
List disadvantages of ICT in the workplace
- Requites constant upgrading of skills
- Jobs: smaller pools of highly-skilled ICT workers replacing large numbers of staff
- ICT employees working longer hours
What is phishing?
a type of social engineering attack often used to steal user data, including login credentials and credit card numbers

What does EFT mean?
Electronic Funds Transfer (online payments).
What does VoIP mean?
Voice over Internet Protocol (e.g., Skype).

What are servers and clients?
Servers are computers that provide services or resources to other computers (clients) that are linked in the network.
What are dedicated devices?
- performs ONE specific task
- not computers
- eg. ATM Machines, microwaves
What are slots and ports on a motherboard?
Slots: Physical connectors for components like RAM, GPUs, and expansion cards (e.g., PCI, RAM slots).
Ports: External connectors for peripherals like USB, HDMI, and Ethernet cables.
